Since I know that y’all have been waiting patiently for the full reveal of our painted white brick exterior house makeover, I decided to do a quick little post here so you can see some of the before and after pictures now!  Then, I will do some additional posts on the step-by-step process, paint colors/types of paint used, and links to the other products we chose for this project.  So without further ado, here is Our White Painted Brick House Makeover (Before & After Pictures).

Project Details

I tried to show different sides/views of our house since this ended up being a pretty big project:

• front view
• garage view
• right and left sides 
• patio full
• patio kitchen
• covered patio with fireplace

For the next posts to follow, I will cover these details:

Front of House View

I’ll start with the front of our house because that’s probably the view everyone wants to see the most – LOL!!

• I love how our house looks simple and understated with the white brick. 
• Not that the red brick was bad, it just looks softer and more elegant now.

It always amazes me how something as simple as paint color, can completely change the look of whatever is being painted!

Side of House View (Left)

Next is the side of the house view – by the garage. 

• I’ll go over why I chose not to paint the fascia, soffits, or gutters in the black accent trim – in the next post.

Also:

The white paint has also covered up the “non-matching” brick that the contractor tried to use – when we covered up those kitchen windows (after we flooded).

• I know y’all can’t probably see it – but I can!

Side of House View (Right)

And the other side. 

Not too exciting, but painting took care of our AC rust water draining problem.

• Well, and we fixed the AC pipe to drain AWAY from the house. 
• That might help – haha!

 

Here it is with the pipe L-shaped extension (corrected) – so that it doesn’t drain onto the side of the house anymore.

Can’t have our pretty new white paint getting dirty from the get-go!

Garage View

So, I opted out of painting the garage doors and/or small doors in the black accent trim also.  

• Once again, it’s simply personal preference. 
• I have seen them done and they are stunning, I just wanted everything to be mostly white.

Also, I am thinking about either adding a light fixture in that middle brick section….. or maybe just adding a black planter?  

Always something!

Patio View

Here are some pictures of our outdoor patio and kitchen.  I have to admit that this is my favorite “new” area.

When you walk underneath this section, it really makes the entire area “feel” so much larger than it really is.

And I don’t know how long this kitchen will stay like this….wink-wink!

These pictures will give you a sense of what I was talking about earlier.  

• Having everything painted white really expands the entire area visually – right?

Covered Patio View

I finally have my treasured white brick fireplace – outside! 

• There is just something about this area that feels homey and serene now.

And my new blue-gray beadboard to replace the burnt orange. 

• Doesn’t mean that I am abandoning my team though – Hook ’em Horns!!

Gosh, I am cheesy and totally showing my age!

Brick Fireplace View

And we decided to remove that cedar mantel.

We always loved it, but those pesky carpenter bees kept making their home underneath it.  

No reason to have an sitting area – that you can’t enjoy!

Back of House View

This wider view is one of my favorite pictures!

It really captures the whole “feel” of the backyard area – as a collective space rather than individual components.

• I am just not too crazy about the “orange-ish tint” of the pavers and pool coping, but that is another project to worry about later 😉
