It was time for our master bedroom to have a little makeover. I have been loving all of the trendy white painted walls lately, so I decided to paint the room white. But then I was having a hard time choosing colors and how I wanted the room to feel. And then there was the “stocking issue” problem with the items…. I did want. But needless to say – it’s done (well almost all of it), and I’m excited to share it with you! Here is our Master Bedroom Makeover: Chambray Blue + White.

Master Bedroom Makeover: Chambray Blue + White
I have definitely loved the SW Naval accent wall in our bedroom for the last four years, but wanted a “lighter” and more relaxed feel in here now.
And I will say that this new bedroom white paint color is now my new favorite, even more than our new dining room white paint color.

- Plus, I just painted our kitchen and living room white also (post coming soon) and now I’ll be able to compare all of them!
I can’t wait to share all of the goodies with you, and will do some updates when I:
- find a new rug
- finish decorating the other side of the room

Master Bedroom Makeover: Chambray Blue + White
New Wall Color:
Here is the best wall color picture I had (it really shows the truest lighting).
It is very neutral, and will go with any accent color.
New Bedding/Pillows:
I wanted to show you the bedding items that I bought just for the makeover:
- chambray blue striped bedding and 2 striped pillows (from Target)
I chose the bedding for a couple of reasons:
- it’s very neutral (can add any pop of color right in the middle of those 2 pillows)
- it’s pet friendly, yes Boomer sleeps with us 😉
- it’s dark without being too harsh
Here is a closeup picture of the bedding. I love the texture of it.
And here is a closeup of the 24″ pillows – also has a lot of texture to it.
And here is a better picture of the other 2 accent pillows I “borrowed” from the kitchen banquette.
They also have a ton of texture, and the pom pom pillow just adds some whimsy.
New Mirror:
So the gold brass round mirror is my favorite item in the makeover – I know – go figure!!
I love the caged outer ring to it. It is simple, yet adds visual interest, and of course adds some warmth to the cooler blue bedding items.
I found it at Home Goods.
Here is a closeup picture of it. It is more brushed brass than gold I would say.
New Curtains:
I also found my new white curtains at Home Goods, and I love these too.
They are a soft white, but not bright white.
And they are textured – which is a first for me.
I usually like the linen look and feel, but I saw these…. and fell in love with them.
- The best thing about them is that they are heavy, and I didn’t have to iron them- bonus!!
And yes…. those are paper shades – still!!! LOL!
One day we will upgrade from the paper to some actual blinds.

Behind the Scenes Pictures
I am adding this section to the blog – because I want to show y’all that life is NOT perfect like “staged” pictures show.
We are all just trying to make it day-to-day, and decorating shouldn’t feel perfected or pressured – but livable.
So cheers to 2022, and LIVING life!
Here ya go:
Why don’t you ever see this side of our bedroom…. well here is what it ACTUALLY looks like.
