I’m so excited to showcase my Mom’s (aka Gabbi’s) vintage Pink Manhattan depression glass this year for our Easter & Spring table decoration. I paired it with cheerful yellow and white stripes (table runner, placemats, and napkins) to give it that cottage feel that I love. It’s a great way to honor Jesus and my Mom at the same time – and just makes me smile! So let’s get to it. Easter & Spring Tablescape Idea: Pink + Yellow.

Some Decorating Tips:

I just wanted to remind you to be kind to yourself this Easter season, and let His light shine through YOU (& not the decorations).

You are decorating your table for Jesus, and He knows that you are decorating out of love.
He sees you and knows your heart – and that takes all of the pressure off decorating (& cooking) – thank goodness!!
So that means you can decorate with a joyful and grateful heart, and don’t have to stress out about how it looks (or tastes) LOL!

Ok, now we can carry on in a peaceful manner – Amen!

Easter & Spring Tablescape Idea: Pink + Yellow

Because I am definitely a nerd, and do love vintage stemware/tableware/dishware, I wanted to share some information on my Mom’s depression glass that I am using.

Depression Glass Background:

It was made from 1929-1950 (or in that time-frame).
It was distributed in cereal (oatmeal) boxes, at gas stations, and at movie theaters during the depression to retain loyal customers.
It was also a premium for buying a sack of flour.
My Mom started her collection with 3 of the tea tumblers (given to her from my Dad’s Mom – Granny F).

So here below is a a picture of the pink depression glass that I am borrowing from my Mom. Isn’t is so beautiful?

Everything in the picture is the Pink Manhattan pattern except the salad plate (left) and the small candy dish with lid (right).

Old Colony Depression Glass Background:

From My Research:

Hocking Glass Company made the Old Colony Pattern (1935-1938).
The Candy Dish on the right side is called – Old Colony “laced edge” or “open lace” Pattern.
The Candy Dish was given to her from her Mom – (Granny J).

I love that both of my Granny’s + Mom have a part of this table decoration this year!!

Pink Manhattan Depression Glass Background:

Then Hocking Glass merged with Anchor Cap & Closure Corp in 1937.
Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation made the Pink Manhattan Pattern (1938-1943).

So you will see these called Anchor Hocking Depression glass or Anchor Hocking Pink Manhattan Pattern depression glass.

Now, let’s see how I used all of the pieces for our Easter & Spring Tablescape Idea: Pink + Yellow.

So, let’s start out with a full picture first so you can get a feel of how it looks all together.

Now, I’ll break it down into sections so you can see how one piece builds on the other.

Easter & Spring Tablescape Idea

Let’s begin with the place settings.

Place Settings:

Yellow striped placemats & napkins
White dot dinner plate
Pink salad plate
Pink Manhattan candy dish (berry bowl)
Pink Manhattan tea tumbler
Copper- colored flatware

Once I put down my placemats & napkins and white dinner plate, I simply added the pink salad plate for a hint of color.

Then, I added the footed candy dish (my Mom calls them berry bowls) and filled them with eggs for Easter.

Next, I added these adorable footed tea tumblers.

Here is a side view so you can see all of the soft pinks and yellows together.

And here is the top view.

I originally bought the copper-colored flatware to use for my fall/Thanksgiving table setting – but didn’t use them.

So, I was really happy to use them for our Easter/Spring table.

They brought just the right amount of warmth to the place setting.

Now, let’s move on to the table centerpiece section.

Table Centerpiece:

Since I already had the yellow striped placemats and napkins, I decided to stick with the same theme for the table runner also.

I love the farmhouse stitching on the runner. It reminds me of something my granny or great-granny would have had.

TIP: You can use your runner as placemats for your end (or Captain’s) chairs – if you don’t have enough placemats in your set.

I like this trick when I only have 4 placemats, but need 6. 😉

I decided to use a tall vase with white flowers for my main focal point of the table centerpiece, and used the smaller yellow vase with white flowers for a pop of color.

Next came this unique Ball & Tilt Pitcher -it is so beautiful and I’ve never seen anything like it.

I really love how it sits angled on the table, and also brings a ton of visual interest.

Do you love my fake lemons – haha!! They worked perfectly here in the sugar piece.

And I used the creamer piece – well – for my sugar! I decided to use splenda packets to bring in some more yellow.

Then I used the Old Colony candy dish “laced edge” as a way to hold the spoon for stirring sugar into the tea, and the container for splenda packets disposal.

Love repurposing!

I filled the large serving bowl with white egg and bead garland – just to bring in some whimsy.

This serving tray was on our buffet – but I just wanted to show you the individual pieces that go with it.

Basically, it is a clear Manhattan round tray and center relish dish.
With 5 Pink Manhattan relish inserts.

It also my other favorite piece because it is so unusual.

And with all of the eggs!!

I am excited to share with you our Easter dining room and table decorations this year! It is always so much fun to see the trends for the spring colors and wreaths of the season, and then the inspiration and ideas begin to soar! And who doesn’t love to decorate for Jesus? So, let’s get to it! Easter Table Setting: Spring Green + White Tulips.

Supplies:

White tray
4 – Greenery Picks
White Rose/Peony Picks (cut into individual picks)
Easter Bunny Candle Holders (spray paint silver)
1- Easter Egg & Bead Garland
White Ruffled Napkins
Green Napkin Rings
Blue Ticking Placemats
Glasses Black Stem
White Dinnerware, here, here, or here
Tulip Wreath, here, or here
2 – Tulip Floral Arrangements (pop in vase)

*Most of the supplies listed are similar to the products that I used.

But don’t forget to rummage through you house first to see what you already have on hand.
You’ll be amazed at what you “forgot” you have – lol!!

Ok, let’s get to some decorating! Easter Table Setting: Spring Green + White!

Easter Table Setting: Spring Green + White Tulips

Easter/Spring Centerpiece:

Tray, greenery, white rose picks, egg bead garland, bunny candle holder

I always start my dining table decorating with the table centerpiece. It helps to set the tone or “feel” of the table.

This year I used my white tray, 4 green picks, and rose picks to add the fluff.
Then I simply added the bunny candle holder and white candle.
I finished if off with laying the beaded egg garland over the greenery.

You can see how the greenery and white rose picks make the foundation – in the picture below.

I like to let some of the greenery and white roses fall over the tray also to soften the edges of the tray.

I really loved this egg bead garland that I found at Hobby Lobby.

It had the white speckled eggs that give it that farmhouse feel, and the natural-colored beads just brings in some boho whimsy.

Of course this silver bunny candle holder is the focal point of the entire table.

I found this little beauty at Home Goods, and knew it was going to be the star of the show.

You can always use the link above (supplies section) and spray paint those bunnies silver.
Or simply add silver candle holders or silver lanterns, etc…. to get a similar look.

Ok, now let’s set the table for your family and guests!

Table Setting:

white napkins, napkin rings

So, these chartreuse green napkin rings were the inspiration this year for the entire Easter tablescape and room.

Funny how something so small gives you the most inspiration!

Anyhoo…..

So, I decided to use my go-to white dot dishes with the blue-striped ticking-ish place mats to bring in the farmhouse feel again.
Then I brought in my favorite white ruffled dinner napkins for the green and bunny napkin rings.
Next I finished it off with the 2 different styles of black-footed and crystal antique wine glasses.

(I know the 4 black-footed glasses should all be to the right of the dinnerware – but I needed them moved to the corners for all of my centerpiece pics this year)!

Ok – carry on 😉

TIP: I have mentioned this before, but don’t be afraid to mix different dishes, napkins, place mats, glasses, etc.

Like if you have 6 guests but only 4 of something – use them on the 4 side seats and 2 different items for the 2 captain chairs.

A lot of items come in sets of 4, so sometimes you just gotta make it work – as is!!

Here below is a pictures of my antique glasses together so that you can see them side-by-side.

I decided to fluff the napkins this year and just tuck them into the bowls – kind of like large bows.

They also mimic the shape of the bunny ears in the candle holder, and of course I just need some whimsy to make me smile.

And here are the 2 different napkin rings.

Again, I only had 4 of those green napkin rings and I simply added the 2 bunny rings from last year’s table setting.

Ok, now let’s talk tulips!!

Tulip Wreath + Arrangements

So, I actually bought the tulip wreath & tulip arrangements in the blue vases – last year – but I was still in my “shades of blue” love for that table decoration.

And since the chartreuse green napkin rings were my inspiration for this year’s table decoration, I knew that the white tulips with green stems would be the perfect addition to my color palette.

I hung the white tulip wreath against the mirror on our back dining room wall with a sage green gingham ribbon.

I actually tried it first with a lime green gingham ribbon – but this sage color was much softer and more elegant.

And I really love these white tulip arrangements in the blue vases.

The tulips look and feel very real and I love the spring green color of the leaves.

That way you can pick a new vase color each year, and keep things fresh.
