7 Fall Decorating Ideas:  Room by Room

I am so excited to share some fall decorating tips, ideas and our Fall 2025 Home Tour this year with you!!  Since we moved about this time last year, I wasn’t able to decorate for fall.  And because we moved….. I might have gone a little “extra” this year at our new house – lol!  Hopefully you will find some easy and simple decorating ideas with each of the different vignettes that you can create at your own home (instead of going a little crazy like me 😉 ) .    Let’s get to it.   7 Fall Decorating Ideas:  Room by Room.

If I have time, I will try to do some additional posts on some of the DIY fall items that I used for this post 🙂

7 Fall Decorating Ideas:  Room by Room

Since this was our first year in this house to decorate for fall, I had to spend a little more time than usual setting things up.

And as a result, I “tried” on several different looks (vignettes) in each room, to see what would work or not.

  • So I ended up decorating a lot more than in past years.  Yikes!!
  • But the good thing is, each room has it’s own color scheme and vibe.  Yay!!
  • Which means you’ll be able to take tips from each vignette and tweak them to fit your own fall masterpiece.  Woohoo!!

Decorated Ideas + Rooms :

  1.   Entry
  2.   Dining Room
  3.   Kitchen
  4.   Built in Boocase (our hallway)
  5.   Powder Bath
  6.   Breakfast Table
  7.   Living Room + Mantel

Let’s get to it!  7 Fall Decorating Ideas:  Room by Room.

#1)  Entry

In our entry this year, I used an orange and dusty rose color palette.

Get The Look

For the console:

  • Start with a white tray and white cake stand,  and add a couple of different-sized orange pumpkins.
  • Then add some orange leaf floral stems to the vase.
  • Complete the look with a silver leaf tray + orange and dusty rose fabric pumpkins.

(and you’ll also notice I added a “Goose” this year – lol – our new dog)!!

Then I used those same colors on our entry bench to tie it all together.

  • I love how the bench vignette looks so simple and clean, yet completely brings in the coziness factor.
  • It welcomes our guest as soon as they come in the front door.

#2)  Dining Room

In our dining room, I chose amber gold and dusty blue for the color scheme.

For the console:

  • Use blue lamps and a blue and white ginger jar to anchor the console.
  • Then add some stacked ochre-colored salad plates, a fall sign, and a small white pumpkin for accents.
  • Complete the look with a whimsical polka dot bow to your blue and white jinger jar, and floral pillows to captain’s chairs.

(Don’t you love how I tried to be dramatic and separate the flowers – for a segway into the console)?  Yes, eye roll entered!!

Plus, I still love to pop these “Give Thanks” and “Grateful, Thankful, Blessed” signs around the dining room + kitchen.

  • They not only pick up the blue tones for decorating, they help to act as daily reminders for the blessings of the season!
  • Seeing is believing – right?

And here is the other side of the dining room.

I really love how the other 2 floral pillows and x-benches make the room look cohesive.

#4)  Built in Bookcases

Our bookcases are in a hallway that leads to the  powder bath – so I decided to use a deep red/burgundy color palette in here.

Get The Look

For the built in bookcases vignette:

  • Start with a red leaf garland strand to the lower shelves + a couple of pinecones in the center.
  • Then add 4 small white pumpkins + 4 single red leaf picks to accent those pumpkins.
  • Complete the look with fall wheat bushels with deep red/burgundy ribbon.

#5)  Powder Bath (or Coffee Table)

Our powder bath is a little unusual because it has 2 sides with counters (one with a sink, and one with a dressing table area).  So I decided to decorate both sides.

**** You could also use these vignettes on a coffee table ****

For the sink side (tray) vignette:

  • Add some gold fall stems and gold candle to a tray.
  • Then place a candle jar into the center of a glass vase and fill with pot pourri.
  • Complete the look with pinecone garland.

#6)  Breakfast Table

But…… since I loved the pumpkin vignette so much, I decided “she” needed her own space – LOL!

So she got moved to a spotlight position – now as the breakfast table centerpiece (such a Drama Queen)!!

Get The Look

For the iron pumpkin vignette:

You’ll need a round woven tray/ pot pourri/ ivory floral picks/ wooden cake stand/ iron pumkin/ LED candles/ bow

  • Start with a round woven tray, fill with pot pourri (leaving a whole in the center), and place onto the cake stand.
  • Then add a bow to the top of the iron pumpkin, a LED candle, and place it in the center of the round tray.
  • Pop in  some ivory floral picks to the sides to give it more visual weight.
  • Complete the look with 2 LED pumpkin candles – for even more drama 😉

  • Add white pumpkins in different sizes and flank with 2 tall gold candle lanterns on the hearth.
