Welcome to our 2024 Summer Home Tour and new color scheme reveal! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted my Easter Tablescape (Blue + Green), and that’s actually where all the inspiration began! From painting rooms, doors, lamps (& moving my girls home from college – lol), our house has been in a state of flux. So, you’ll see a little coastal grandmother, a touch of palm beach, and a ton of whimsy. And I’m just beginning…. so stay tuned for more changes coming soon! Let’s get to it! Summer Decor: Blue + Green

I can tell I’ve been in a house funk for awhile now – not really knowing what color direction or style to lean into.

But after getting inspiration for my Easter Table, I began to like the brighter colors and the “pastels” look that continued to pop up on Pinterest.

Now with that said, I’m definitely taking baby steps here – LOL!
And I am loving this new brighter and happier color scheme!

Summer Decor: Blue + Green

Entry

In our entry I decided to add in a little pink to the blue + green color palette.

Cherry Blossom Inspo

And so where did the inspiration come from?

Well, I absolutely LOVE pink cherry blossoms.
And we just happened to do an anniversary trip this year to Boston, and the pink cherry blossoms were in full bloom. (Photos at end of the post).

Plus, they tie into our front door pink hydrangea basket wreath that I made last year.

Green Purse Inspo

And what about this adorable little green purse?

I found it on a couple’s trip – during the Fiesta San Antonio Festival – and I just knew it was going to find a spot in our summer home tour.
It’s amazing how a couple of small items can inspire and create an entire home’s color palette.

I think my pictures are coming out more muted here, but it’s really a very beautiful and bright shade of green.

Dining Room

In our dining room I stuck with a softer palette of the blue + green color scheme.

I painted the lamps peaceful blue (DIY post coming soon), added the 2 blue/chartreuse green pillows, and blue tray centerpiece.

I love the tropical print on this blue and white ginger jar. It gives the room a little palm beach vibe and adds a ton of whimsy!

I paired it with the 2 floral planters from my Easter Tablescape, and added the blue tray to tie it all together.

And these Blue/Green Pillow Covers (20″)!!!!

I love the chartreuse green with the blue!

Disclaimer LOL: I saw these on Pinterest from several bloggers & they are SO cute & SO affordable!!

They have the patterns on both sides and come with the blue welting – $15 each.
I paired them with my go to Pillow Inserts (22″ – one size larger than cover) – $20 each.

So for $35 each/ $70 pair you have very expensive looking pillows!

I changed out my white lamps with these DIY painted blue lamps to add a little color to the back wall.

Living Room

I love the direction that our living room is heading towards…. but it’s still a work in progress.

I just painted it SW Origami White (from SW Incredible White), and know some things will need to be tweaked. But it’s getting there!

Black Built In & Billy Bookcase

I decided to add some brighter/darker shades of the blue + green color palette in the living room, and then mixed in gold elements to make it a tad more formal.

The darker colors really popped in/and against the black built in.

Of course I still haven’t completely finished my Billy Bookcase hack – since Ikea changed the color up on me (ugh)! But hopefully I’ll finish it soon 😉

The green planters and white orchids that flank our tv add a touch of chinoiserie chic style, and help blend in the different hues of green in here.

These Blue/Green Pillows w/Blue Tassels (20″) from Home Goods provide some texture and whimsy – and they tie all of the other blues + greens together in here also.

Here’s a better pic of the pillow.

The green moss balls and blue books really help punch out the white-washed coffee table, and bring your eye to the center of the room.

And what is that you see in the right top corner?

Well, it’s Boomer in his “coordinating” dog bed from Kirkland’s – LOL!!

Here’s a wider view of our kitchen and living room – now that with the walls painted SW Origami White.

And I am loving the new blue + green pillows on our couch and kitchen banquette!

These blue and white pillows are from the same brand as the dining room pillows – and also come with the blue welting. I just love how bright and cheerful they are!

Here are our new end tables (out of stock right now – but I linked some very similar above), and then the adorable gold leaf lotus candle holders with blue candles.

These definitely give off a palm beach vibe – and they are my favorite “find” for our entire summer decor reveal!

Gold Inspo

Can you have too much gold – I don’t think so!

I’ve added the gold double arm sconce (to coordinate with our new kitchen gold hardware) and have plans to add some art work below it.

And this picture also shows off our freshly painted pantry door.

Kitchen

So it’s very rare that I take any kitchen photos – but I am excited to show you our pantry door.

I just painted it SW Storm Cloud.

I know it’s nothing special – haha! – but it’s going to spark some additional changes in here 😉

And then the very trendy scalloped wicker tray!

And finishing up our home is our kitchen breakfast nook and banquette.

Thibaut Pillow Dupes

So, I wanted to give you an honest opinion here for these adorable Thibaut Honshu pillow covers – Amazon dupes.

They work perfectly for me because all of our pillows in this room will eventually fade (due to the large windows).
And I didn’t want to spend a ton of money for that reason.
The fabric on these dupes feel a little closer to an outdoor fabric, kind of scratchy, and have a taupe background (not white).
