5 Best Tips: Wrapping Christmas Gifts Silver & Gold

5 Best Tips:

Choose 5 Coordinating Wrapping Paper Rolls
Pick 1-2 Ribbon & Accent Colors

Tip #1: Choose 5 Coordinating Wrapping Paper Rolls

The first thing you will want to do is choose your wrapping paper colors and/or theme.

My color palette this year is neutral (silver & gold) + emerald green (tree color/theme).

I am using 5 different wrapping paper choices to give you an idea of how to mix and match colors and patterns.

Here are the 5 that I chose this year:

Basically, it will be 3 core + 2 accents.
3 Core (Pinecone, Silver Shimmer, Plaid) + 2 Accents (Gold Stripe, Taupe Abstract)

Let’s break it down to make it easier!

3 Core: 1 solid, 1 pattern, 1 neutral.

1 solid color (silver shimmer)
1 neutral (plaid)
1 pattern (pinecone)

With 3 choices: Simple & Classic

With 4 choices: Preppy Party

With 4 choices: Soft & Elegant

Helpful recommendations:

have at least 1-2 darker colors (either gold or taupe) to add some contrast
use at least 1 medium/larger print (pinecone) to create a focal point
choose smaller patterns that look similar – dots, trees, plaids, stripes, etc.
*You can also use these tips with other colors: reds, greens, purples, black and whites, metallic shades, etc.

Tip #2: Pick 1-2 Ribbon & Accent Colors

Now that you have chosen your wrapping paper, it’s time to choose ribbon colors.

Choose One Color for minimalist style.
Choose Two Colors for maximalist style.

My Choices:

I chose white ribbon (to coordinate with my wrapping paper) and green ribbon (to coordinate with my tree color palette).

If your tree is red, choose red as your accent ribbon color; blue tree/blue ribbon, etc.
If you want to stay all neutral – choose silver or gold as your accent ribbon color.

You can also add decorative accents:

Choose snowflakes, ornaments, greenery, etc.

Helpful recommendations:

use accessories that match your accent ribbon (green ornaments, white snowflakes)
choose neutral ribbon colors that go with your wrapping paper (white, silver, or gold ribbon)
use ribbons in different sizes, textures, or patterns

Tip #3: Choose Boxes In Multiple Shapes & Sizes

This tip will seem very obvious, but I just wanted to mention it.

I know that you will have different box sizes than mine (depending on what’s IN your boxes- lol), but at least you can see how my turned out.
This year we had more Amazon boxes (which I just decided to use), and I love the “cube” shapes. They really changed the look (presentation) when under the tree.
