Painting Our Master Bedroom: SW Origami White

Thanks for being so patient while I have been trying to get our house (and family) reorganized.  It has been a crazy month, and we are finally getting back to normal.  Now with that said, I have finished painting our master bedroom walls.  But I am still working on the decorating part – and that is going v.e.r.y slowly!!  I’ll find something, and then it’s not in stock.  Or it’s in stock, but delayed shipping.  And it may just be that I’m in between decorating styles right now, and a little indecisive – LOL!  Anyhoo…. let’s get to it!  Painting Our Master Bedroom: SW Origami White.

So, I will start off by saying that I have loved our SW Naval accent wall with SW Silver Strand side walls in our master bedroom.

They have been painted these colors for the last 4 years, and it has really been one of my personal favorite color palettes.

But…. it’s time to move along!

Before pic.

And normally this is the big “whoa look at that” – after moment….. but it actually looks pretty sad right now.

I really wanted to change things up in here, so it is bare and stripped to the core.  But I’m working on it….promise you 😉

Let’s call this the Work in Progress Pic.

And this is also my new year’s resolution for the blog:

  • to show more behind the scenes pics and
  • to show less polished parts of our home projects

So, this work in progress pic… is actually progress for me 😉

Ok let’s get the goodies:  Painting Our Master Bedroom: SW Origami White.

Our house has been painted in different shades of blue, but now I’m leaning into the “more neutral” shades.

Here pictured below are our new-er house paint colors (first row), and then the next 2 rows are the colors that I am wanting to try out.

And I know…… they are all white-ish.

But that’s what I am into right now, and I wanted to be able to share what I really thought about them on a personal level – with you.

Here are the painted swatches on SW Silver Strand walls (in our living room) because you can’t see them as well in our bedroom.

And I had to add a similar color on the right side of this pic – because we really have no true walls in our our living room.

And here they are in our bedroom – yep – terrible.

It was cloudy for like 3 weeks straight, and I could never get a “true light” on the samples in here.

Sorry!

Bye-bye navy walls.

And normally I don’t paint with all of these weird brush strokes like the ones pictured on both of these walls.

But I am finding out that for some reason…. I must get too much paint on my roller and paint brush…. and I have to get the excess paint off.

I think it’s called “getting older,”  therefore….. getting less particular 😉  LOL!

You can kind of see the different undertones in this picture, but not good enough to really get a true sense of the colors.

And then the other side of our bedroom – before pics.

SW Silver Strand is probably one of the most soothing paint colors I have ever used.

  • It’s kind of like SW Sea Salt, but less “minty,” and with more gray undertones (in our house).

I threw in a couple of accessories so you could get a little feel of the color.

Here is a closeup of the SW Origami color against our SW Snowbound trim.

And yes – it’s hard to see, but it has a “putty” feel to it.

  • I really think it can go with any accent color.  And that’s always a win-win!

So, I turned the lamps on to make it look a little better – haha!!

Stay tuned for the reveal….. coming soon!
