I am excited to share our Fall Home Tour 2021 with you – finally! This year I wanted to show you how I use different fall floral arrangements around our house, and added in some helpful tips so you can get the same look at YOUR home too. And since this year I tried to go with a quick, simple, and easy approach for fall decorating, all of my flowers and other autumn accent pieces will fit this “relaxed look.” So, let’s get to the goodies! First Things First:

I wanted to start off by saying that I’m using the term fall “arrangements” – VERY loosely! lol!

So, here are some answers to some of the questions that you may have:

1) How do you plan or design Fall Arrangements?

My approach to fall flowers or any floral “arrangements” is basically:

2 -3 long faux floral stems per vase or
2 faux florals bushels per vase

Yep – super easy!

2) Where can you use Fall Floral Arrangements?

Use them in/on/as:

Dining Room and/or Kitchen Table (Centerpiece)
Living Room Coffee Table (Centerpiece)
Entry Console Table
Bookshelf
Mantel
Accent/Side Tables

You can also put some in your powder bath, on your master bedroom dresser, or guest room vanity.

Tip #1: Use Neutral Colored Vases For A Cohesive Look

Try to stick with one main color for all of your vases – if possible.

This way, guests will see the fall flower “colors” and you can use more arrangements around your house.

Here (pictured below) are all of the fall arrangements that I am using this year at our home, just so you can see them in one large group.

Dining Room/Kitchen Table Centerpiece

Tip #2: Make One Arrangement Your Showstopper

Since I like to use a lot of fall flowers throughout my home, I always create one that is the showstopper each year.

Yep – I said it! One always has to be the drama queen, and center of attention – insert eye roll here!

The dining room (or kitchen) is a great place for this floral arrangement because of the table size.

You can also put it on a buffet or sideboard to showcase your handiwork, or on your kitchen island.

Throw in a couple of small white pumpkins (or candles), some wooden beads, crystal candle sticks, and some mercury glass votives – for an instant fall table centerpiece.

Then light it up!

Living Room Coffee Table

I just had to add this picture because Boomer always has to be a part of the “trial” process – lol.

I was testing out the fall pillows (note price tag still on the blessings pillow) and throw to make sure I liked the colors together, and Boomer was giving me his opinion.

Ok, moving on 😉

Tip #3: Use All One Color For Big Impact

You’ll notice that the “one color” floral arrangements carry more visual weight than the multi-color floral arrangements.

I chose to use this rust-colored arrangement one on our coffee table this year because it breaks up the multi-color throw pillows on our couch.

I also use it on our kitchen table – just because of the height of the branches, and to bring color to our neutral kitchen.

And my white chenille pumpkins that my Mom picked up from Round Top years ago.

They find a new home each year, no matter what.

Entry Console Table

Supplies:

Vases – White (3 sizes)
4 Golden Yellow Flowers (similar)

Tip #4: Double Duty = Double Impact

Don’t be afraid to use 2 vases with simple floral arrangements together, to make a big statement.

Choose “one color” flowers (tip #3) to add visual weight.
Use different vase heights to add contrast and interest.

I used 3 long yellow stems for the taller white vase, and one yellow stem (shortened) for the smaller light gray vase.

And yes, I know I “staged” this area with the striped sunhat and gold shoes.

I just wanted to add a little whimsy, and to feel like I had actually picked pumpkins at the pumpkin patch!

Living Room Bookshelf

Supplies:

Orange Wreaths, (Large or here) and Small
White Pitcher, White Cake Stand
Beige Flowers (1 Bushel)

Tip #5: Use Wreaths In Unexpected Places

This year I decided to use:

the bigger fall wreath inside our bookshelf – just propped up against the back wall
and the smaller fall wreath on top of a white cake stand – to add texture and height

Living Room Fireplace Mantel:

Tip #6: Use One Floral Arrangement To Tie All Colors Together

It’s always a good idea to use one floral arrangement that ties all of the different fall colors together – just to unite your color palette.

I chose to put this one on our fireplace mantel because it is in the center of our home and you can see it from the front and back door areas.

Accent/End Tables:

You can also use floral arrangements on side/end/accent tables or even nightstands.

I’m using 2 of the arrangements that I already showed you (just wanted to give you some other ideas).

Tip #7: Keep Sightlines Clear

Remember to keep enough room on your table so that your family and friends have a place to put their drink, and to keep sightlines clear so you can still see each other.

This first picture below shows the accent table up against the wall, so the floral arrangement acts as a natural backdrop and keeps sightlines clear.
