Easy Fall Coffee Table Centerpiece: Decorating Ideas

Every year I tell myself that I am going to “scale down” when fall decorating rolls around, and then….. I just can’t do it!

But I know that a lot of you only have one weekend, maybe one day, or even one evening with literally 15 minutes TOP – to put up fall decorations.

So, this year I decided to add some fall decorating ideas that are simple and quick – just to make your life easier.

…… But then I could still fill my house with all of the crazi-ness that I just gotta have for myself.

It’s a win-win for both of us!! 😉

Let’s get to the supplies needed: How to decorate a Fall Coffee Table (in 5 Minutes)!

How to decorate a Fall Coffee Table (in 5 Minutes)

Supplies:

(1) round tray
(1) 8″ gold glass/metal candle holder
(2-3) mercury glass gold candle votives
(3) small white pumpkins
(1) fall garland strand
candles/tea lights (of choice)
Vase here – similar here, or here
Fall stems – here

These are the supplies that I used (or similar) for this easy fall centerpiece idea, but feel free to change it up to fit Your “color palette” or use things you already have on hand.

Color Palette Tweak:

My color palette is more neutral with soft whites, gold, and browns.

But you can tweak it and use orange pumpkins (instead of white) and orange/yellow fall garland leaves (instead of the white/berry acorn garland).

Accessories Tweak:

I am using gold accessories/accents for my vignette.

But you can tweak it with a black candle holder (instead of gold), and clear small candle votives (instead of gold mercury glass) or even use all clear glass.
You can also use orange, rust, or gold candles instead of white also.

It’s your fall table, so just style it to make it fit with your fall style and home.

How to decorate a Fall Coffee Table (in 5 Minutes)

Step #1: Place All Candle Holders Into Round Tray

I like to use one large candle holder, and then two smaller ones (with different sizes), just to give it a layered look.

larger candle holder with glass – 8″
smaller votive – 4″
smaller votive – 3 1/2″

TIP: Try to use 2 smaller candle votives that are roughly half of the height of the larger candle holder – this helps with the scale of the tray.

You’ll notice that I used 3 smaller votives (one is just left on the actual coffee table). But it’s just personal preference.

Step #2: Weave Garland Between Candle Holders

Now just simply take your fall garland and weave it in, out, and in between the candle holders/votives to cover up all of the open space in your tray.

I like to hang a couple of pieces over the sides of the tray to make it look a little messier.

TIP: Make sure to spread garland berries (or leaves if you have some) apart so that the garland doesn’t lay flat.

Step #3: Add 3 Small Pumpkins

Now it’s time to place 3 smaller white pumpkins into the open gaps on your tray.

Again, I have two 3″ pumpkins, and one 2.5″ pumpkin – just because I like the “assorted look” more.

But feel free to use whatever you have on hand.

And You are Done!!

This vignette works great for everyday use because it’s not very tall, and doesn’t block any site lines to the TV (yes, you know that’s important for your honey too). 😉
