These DIY fall word signs are so simple, quick, & cheap to make that it’s almost embarrassing to write a post about them – lol! But they are super easy to do, and made such an impact on a large wall – that I just had to share this decorating idea with you. Plus, you’ll be able to reuse the canvas boards again for future projects and/or simplify this one today – stretching that budget money even longer – Yes, Please! So, let’s get to it! DIY Fall Wall Signs: Thankful, Grateful, Blessed

I found all of my supplies at Michael’s.

Supplies:

canvas set of 3 (18×24)
3 spice-colored felt sheets (12×18) – color: copper canyon
fall wooden word cutouts – thankful, grateful, blessed
mounting tape – 1″ or .1″
hanging method of your choice
scissors

*These signs will be horizontal – just a FYI.

*If you want to make only one sign (versus 3 signs), simply put all the three words on one canvas board 🙂 – see step #2.

Ok, let’s get to the 2 easy steps DIY Fall Wall Signs: Thankful, Grateful, Blessed.

Step #1: Attach Mounting Tape to Felt Sheets/Canvas

For this step, just cut 4 pieces of mounting tape and stick to the four corners of your felt sheet.

I used the 1″ mounting tape for this step, but you can use the smaller size if you want.

I always keep both of these sizes on hand – so it’s just personal preference.

Now you will attach the felt sheet to the middle of your canvas board, and press down each of the 4 corners.

I did not measure mine, but feel free to pull out that ruler if you need to 😉
I also had my 3 canvas boards hung on the wall already, but you can wait until the end if that’s easier for you.

Then, you will repeat for the other 2 canvas boards.

If you are only making one sign, move on to step #2.

Step #2: Attach Mounting Tape to Wooden Words/Felt Sheets

Now, it’s time to attach the fall words to your felt sheets.

You will cut small pieces of the mounting tape and attach it generously to the BACK of the wooden word signs.

I put the tape on the front side by accident, so I wanted to remind you before you made the same mistake!!

I used the smaller tape for the words, just to make it easier. But again, use whatever you have on hand.

Then you will push the words gently onto the middle of each felt sheet.

This is a little tricky because you need to push firm enough for the tape to stick to the felt, but not too hard – or you’ll mess up the canvas board.

Then, you will repeat for the other 2 felt sheets/canvas boards.

I used the sequence: Thankful, Grateful, Blessed.

If you are only making one sign, it would like this one pictured below.

And You Are DONE!!!

Easy-Peasy!!

Decorating Tips:

You can always just prop the canvas signs up into your bookcase/bookshelves, onto entry/console tables, powder/guest bathrooms, or even against your kitchen backsplash.
Paint the wooden fall words, or decoupage with fall scrap paper.
Add leaves, acorns, ribbons/bows as accents.
Style them with chair vignettes or bench vignettes.
