Christmas Home Tour 2020: Tree Love

I have always enjoyed decorating for the holidays, but this year it has given our home a much-needed “Christmas Spirit.”  It’s so amazing that the wonder, glory, and promise of Jesus is seen and felt in decorating in His Honor.  And it has nothing to do with the quantity or quality of our decorations, but in the meaning of our decorations.  I believe that we all needed that extra Hope and Love a little earlier this 2020, and decorating brought these emotions out.  I feel so blessed to be able to share some of our holiday decor with you.  Here is our Christmas Home Tour 2020:  Tree Love.

Just some quick notes:

  • This post will be mostly pictures, so it is a little shorter than my other posts (thank goodness – right)?  LOL!!
  • I also tried to use new photos that are different from my previous Christmas posts – just to keep things fresh.
  • You’ll notice that I have a little Christmas “tree” obsession/theme going on this year – and I have to admit that I love them all!
  • If you want to see more detailed pictures of our Christmas home (specific rooms), scroll to the end of the post for links to those posts.

Ok, so let’s get to our Christmas Home Tour 2020:  Tree Love!!

Entry:

In the entry, I kept things soft and neutral.   I brought in different textures with the bottle brush trees and pops of flocked greenery.

I also added in touches of shimmer with the silver mercury glass and gold shimmer throw pillows.

For the right side of the entry, I kept it the same as last year with the “What a Beautiful Name it Is” sign and DIY pine sprays.

Scroll to the end of the post if you want more info on making the pine sprays.

Dining Room:

In our dining room, I also used the (white and blue) neutral color palette, with the touches of silver/gold metallic shimmer.

Of course these new DIY lanterns were such a fun and easy project this year, and fit in perfectly with my tree theme.

Adding the faux wood, fur, and gold edge trim ribbon, really makes the entire tablescape come together.

And the cinnamon-scented pine cones bring in texture to the dining room centerpiece, and also help hide the battery packs (ha!) for the fairy lights!!

Above:  I used my white feather wreath (that I made years ago) to bring in more texture to the dining room wall.

Below:  I used the white wooden tray (that I put together last year) to bring in some glistening greenery and champagne-colored ball picks – to tie it all together.

Living Room:

I really do like the way our living room turned out this year.

I was a little afraid of how our tree was going to mix in with the “loud” curtains, but they actually created a backdrop for it- right?

Since the living room already has so much blue and white popping from the curtains, pillows, and rug, I simply added the same white and metallic color palette in here as well.

Below: I kind of feel like we have a Dr. Seuss-vibe going on in the living room, with the whimsical green fabric and yarn trees on the top shelves of the bookcase.

And then a Charlie Brown Christmas-vibe with the smaller white trees with gold and silver balls in the lower shelves.

(P.S.  I found all of these items mentioned at the dollar section in Target).

Did I mention that I love feathers and fur???? 😉

Even our Angel has it!!

Below pic:  I found this amazing sign at Home Goods for $20, and just could not pass it up.

It’s hard to tell from the photos, but it actually is a very dark navy with a vintage-wash on it.

It’s amazing how one single decoration can really brighten every.single.day!  Amen!!

My mom (aka Gabbi) gave me this sweet little manger scene many years ago, that always finds a special home each year.

I love to pair it with that hexagon mirror to give it extra light – like it’s glowing.

Master Bedroom:

This was my first year to decorate our bedroom for Christmas, and it has brought so much joy to this room.

I decided to swag different-sized wreaths to add a little focal point to the wall above the bed, and it really made the room pop.

I used a couple more of the trees to bring in some texture, and added greenery to tie in the green color palette.

I don’t get to show this front view of our bed very often because our bedroom is just not quite deep enough to get it all in – LOL!!

Kitchen Coffee/Hot Chocolate Bar:

This Christmas coffee and hot chocolate bar was such a blast to set up, and I love all of the red.

It’s kind of like the Clark Griswold area of our house, and probably the most popular!!

Christmas Home Tour 2020: Tree Love

Of course, I had to add some trees with a holiday sign….. just to keep up the “crazy-tree-lady” persona I have going on this year!

And these super-fun mugs to keep things from getting TOO serious!

Below:  And our Christmas Card Tree holder (from Wal-Mart years ago), that just hangs to the right side wall of the coffee bar.

It’s in the perfect spot so we can see all of our cards from family and friends every day.

I always put our older Christmas cards in it, just to see how our girls have grown.  This one was from 2012).  Wow – time flies!!

Powder Bath:

And you can’t have a Clark Griswold Christmas…..well….. without a cousin Eddie!

Meet Cousin Eddie!

Those crazy red and white pom-pom trees are so stinkin’ cute, and my girls STILL love the red sleigh with the stuffed animals.

I added the 2 hand towels this year to bring in a little more “tree love” to this room, but kept the other decorations the same.

This room just makes me smile, and puts the MERRY in Merry Christmas!

And yes….. even our presents will have some trees on them!!

Time to go – I’ve got some wrapping to do.  😉
