Master Bathroom Remodel: Hardware Accessories

master bathroom remodel: hardware accessories

Now that we have settled into our home (a little more) after flooding, I can honestly say that it’s slowly beginning to feel like normal!!!  Hallelujah!!!  Cue the angels & the choir, because HOPE is in the air!!  It might also be due to the fact that I am taking a fabulous bible study class called “Anchored in Hope,” (taught by an incredibly blessed woman), but regardless, something beautiful inside the soul is taking place!!   And that hope has inspired me to finally get around to do a post on our Master Bathroom Remodel: Hardware Accessories.

Master Bathroom Remodel:  Hardware Accessories

I knew there was a ton to cover in this room, and that is probably why I have been procrastinating on getting this post done – LOL!!

Now, that I am looking through pictures, etc…., I know that I will have to split the master bath remodel into two posts.

Sink, shower, tub, and Barn door Hardware – with Design Guide is done!

Master Bathroom Remodel:  Hardware Accessories

First Things First:

  • I will honestly admit that I had NO idea how much thought and planning went into a master bathroom remodel.
  • It’s very overwhelming at first (probably because I hadn’t planned on flooding – arrrrrgh!!)…… but with the right planning, it is achievable.

Second:

  • Out of all of the changes that we made in the bathroom, the hardware accessories are what makes the bathroom mine!!
  • The hardware and chandelier are the final accessories that complete the master bath;  they are the jewelry that adds the final touch.  And they reflect my (our – haha!) personality.

Ok, let’s get to the hardware accessories!

Master Bathroom Remodel

Before & After Pictures:

So this is what it used to look like after the flood (sorry for the bad lighting).

BEFORE:

DURING:

This is during the sheet rock phase…..

AFTER:

  • We added the chandelier,
  • straightened the bay window bump out/changed the window, and
  • added the free standing tub.

DURING:

AFTER:

  • The door on the left is the lavatory, doors on the right go to our master closet.
  • Then we added the “hers” closet – which holds my jewelry and other “stuff” – LOL!

Here is another angle of that corner.

  • Some of the pictures don’t have all 3 phases…..just what I could find!

BEFORE:

AFTER:

  • We also decided to add a storage cabinet above the lavatory – which comes in so handy.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

  • We changed out the 2 doors going into the master bath with a barn door, and it has added additional space to our master bedroom now.

This is a picture of my husband’s side of the master bath.

DURING:

AFTER:

  • You can probably tell how much space we gained in here – just by changing out the old tub area with the freestanding tub.

BEFORE:

Here is a picture of my side of the master bath.

  • It was built with the 2 different heights (one higher part for the sink area, and then the lower part and opening for the vanity chair area).

AFTER:

Since we were working with the existing plumbing (sink on the right side), I had to come up with a mirror dilemma/solution.

  • I decided to do the 2 mirrors sided-by-side so they would match my husband’s side.  And I love how it all turned out!
  • Then we had the vanity built to one flat cabinet height, and closed up the vanity chair opening by adding 3 drawers.

BEFORE:

  • And what about the existing shower – here it is!  Not too bad.

AFTER:

So we completely changed the shower area and I can absolutely say that it’s my favorite part of the entire master bath remodel!

  • We decided to make it frameless,
  • And straightened out the bump out in front.

The we added the:

  • Marble inset accent wall, penny tile floor, and tiled up to the ceiling.
  • Pony wall on the outside – to hide the new shower seat on the inside.
  • Rain shower head and 2 overhead ceiling lights.

BEFORE:

  • Here is a better view so that you can see how much space we gained by changing out the existing tub surrounding to free-standing, and the curved shower wall to straight wall.

AFTER:

  • Those little changes make a huge difference -right?

BEFORE:

  • Here is another side view of the tub area wall.

AFTER:

  • Adding the free standing tub really added a lot more room even around the vanities.
  • We’re no longer banging our shins on that tub corner anymore!

BEFORE:

  • So here is a straight picture of the tub area, 3 windows, and bay window bump out.

AFTER:

And much better now!

  • We changed the bump out to straight wall, and
  • Changed out the 3 windows to one large arched window.
  • Then we added the bath tub hardware, and hardware “wall,”
  • And decided to tile up to the ceiling.
  • We finished it up with the beautiful chandelier!
